Must-Have Safety Technology!

Even without the fantastic Ford Specials going on right now, if you spend your money on a Ford vehicle you are getting every penny’s worth! The vehicles from American auto maker Ford have increased dramatically in quality and their hard work has been rewarded with several safety awards. There are many new safety features that several vehicles come standard with, and we will outline a few of them briefly.
One thing you want to look for is some kind of emergency response system. GM and the line up at Chevrolet Dayton come with OnStar for one year, but if you buy used, that one year free subscription is expired. Consider renewing it. The vehicles at any VW Dealer have installed technology that will turn on your hazard lights and disconnect your battery from the alternator whenever your airbags are deployed!
Passenger sensitive airbags. If you have a small child or even a car seat in the front seat, you will not want the airbags to deploy in the event of an accident because of the damages that could occur to the underweight passenger. Additionally, some vehicles have smart sensors in that front passenger seat so that if you are sitting in an odd position, say leaning way forward, the airbag will adjust its deployment to not cause further injury.
Back up cameras can come from the manufacturer, or there are after market versions available. There is a huge blind spot right at your rear bumper, and the back up camera will help keep you and the people around you safer. Some models will come with the back up camera installed in the rear view mirror that automatically turns on whenever you shift the vehicle into reverse.
Some new vehicles also come with blind spot detection. If there is an item in your side blind spot when you are about to parallel park or change lanes, the vehicle will alert you to the possible accident.
