When you are in the market for a used car, it is likely for a few reasons.  You probably want to save money, and no one can argue with that!  You also might not want to have to carry full coverage with your insurance company, and when you buy a brand new car from Nissan New York, for example, your financial lender typically requires you to carry full coverage.  A great place to start your used car search is at any dealership like Reading Suzuki.  Dealerships will take in a wide array of vehicles from trade-ins, so just because you aren’t in love with one particular brand doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go check out their used car inventory.

That being said, there are a handful of vehicles that you should probably avoid if you come across one.  An example is the Kia Sedona, which can be found new at Kia Pittsburgh.  Based on reliability studies from 1999 through 2008, the Sedona found itself on a list of used cars to walk away from.  Other imports to steer clear of include the Audi A8 and the V6 version of the Volvo XC90.  You will have to do some independent research to find out what makes these particular makes in these particular model years not a good choice, but there are better options out there.

Domestic giant General Motors has quite the laundry list of vehicles produced during this time period that just aren’t making the grade.  Saturn and Pontiac have been discontinued, and with three Pontiac models on this list it isn’t surprising.  Avoid the Aztek, Montana, and the V6 edition of the G6.  Also, we no longer see the Chevy Blazer or Chevy Uplander in production, and that could very well be because consumers weren’t satisfied with their purchases.  Remember to research any used car you plan on buying to see what other consumers have to say.
